IMMM 2020 Postponed. Date for the IMMM2021 event to be confirmed.
The IMMM is intended to be an international event and as such we had to consider what was happening in a number of countries before postponing the 2020 event.
The site for the 2020 event was located in an area currently designated as a “Red Zone” by the French authorities. This was the epicentre of the outbreak in France, had an infection rate higher than the rest of the country and, as such, the restrictions here were lifted more slowly than in the rest of the country.
Our main concern was to preserve everybody’s health and to avoid any risk of infection with Covid 19. Meeting people from different countries raises this risk and we had not seen any hygienic concepts for campsites. There are a number of things which still needed to be booked, and which it may not be possible even to consider before July, at the earliest, including the number of people who can form a group for any purpose. Also, although no details are yet available, the UK is intending to introduce 14 day quarantine for people entering the country and we have no way of knowing if this will still be in place in August 2020.
Taking into account all the current uncertainties, we have taken the hard decision to postpone the IMMM 2020 until 2021.
We will talk to the campsite owners once the restrictions have eased, and the campsite has reopened, to fix a date for August 2021.We will then advise members of the new dates as soon as everything is confirmed. This will probably be towards the end of 2020.
