No, it's not 2014 just yet but the club are ramping up plans for the Mokes 50th birthday and thought an early start was appropriate.
Watch the magazine and this website for the birthday plans as they develop.

Hi Folks!
A brief explaination of the NEW Logo!
It was decided by your Committee a Logo was needed for specific use for Moke 50. I have a Mate who is a Proffessional Graphic Designer, who is in to T4and T5 VW Campers, so knows the devotion for selected vehicles!
He designed a Logo, which presented to the Committee, caused considerable discussion, as the ONLY part common to EVERY Moke over the years is the Grille!! This was noted, and a new design was evolved..what we have now. The reason the headlight is slightly smaller is to focus on the Grille, every car has headlights, but only our car has the shape of Grille that we have in the design. I've shown a lot of people who are not 'Moke' addicts, the design, and they instantly recognised it as a Moke!! We've done our homework on this.....Every change is daunting, I just hope you all will be pleased with the result!!
Chris.

Hi,

I like the new logo and the new website design. It looks more modern and also represents the classic Moke style.
A good start for the MOKE 50 event. Move on...

This is very clover, yet simple. I think that this logo will see the test of time and will be around for a long time. I also like the modern look of the new website.

One thing that I would like to see on the website is an album of the best original Mokes, i.e. production line cars from each model type. Almost an up dated version of the Moke book that the club sells; this would help you when looking to restore cars.

Great work

Nick

Sorry Chris, But the logo is WRONG WRONG WRONG!
Excuses can be made in retrospect, but this is not a moke...The large seven inch headlamps are as big a "trademark" as the grille, and all moke-character is lost without the corrrect proportion.
I feel very strongly about this and will avoid any contact with anything bearing it...including the club....sadly Ken Butterfield

Hi
I do like the new logo & web design however agree with Ken that the proportions are wrong.
Im sure it would be relatively easy to tweak the shape of the grille and enlarge headlamp.
A great concept that just needs tweaking

After looking at the pictures of the national I noticed the new logo on one of the banners in the background, and I must say that it looks worse on that than the one atop this page !

Think the new logo principle is great and lends itself to a lot of regalia opportunities. Discussed the proportions with several members including committee... and agree, it could be a bit better. In the absence of decission and quorum... Chris has done well to get this brave move underway. The silhouette logo banners actually looked great (concensus at the time) but I have to agree, the proportions could be improved. I suggest the headlight circle be proportionally increased to that of the actual glass diameter - not the bezel surround. Played with this a bit and that would give the best proportion for a 'round' logo - think bottle openers, beer mats, key rings, etc even went as far as thinking of an afro comb.... using the grill spokes as teeth...

Graham, let's talk products.....

Do you think there'd be much call for combs in this club ?
