Hi all,

Amberley Publishing have now released the new Moke book by John Christopher. Entitled 'Mini Moke: Small Car, Big Fun!' and priced £15.99, it tells the story of the Moke and the varieties from preservation to development. It is illustrated with just over 150 photos, postcards, posters and diagrams, both old and contemporary, and can be bought at a 10% discount of the cover price at: http://www.amberleybooks.com/shop/artic ... 5609195%26It can also be bought over the phone (though without the discount) on 01453 847800.

I hope this helps,

Nicki Giles (Publicist)

My book arrived while we were away at the Club 30th Anniversary event - which was great by the way. If you missed it... you missed out :P

Anyway, I think the book is quite good. It covers all aspects of model type, history, intended and actual use, a bit of cult and 60's, film and TV, toys / models, rental, modification, prototypes, owner and media views without too much detail such as vin, commission, body numbers and engine specifics other than displacement, and ending with a short paragraph on the new Chery Motors Moke. It's a nicely presented book with nice colour pictures and many famous (well, to us then) faces and Mokes including our Ken Butterfield on several pages, so Ken…. you can't complain

Personally I would say – buy it! On Ebay it's £13.49 (free p&p) instead of the marked £15.99 on the cover. I dare say people will find areas to criticise – that's what people do. I'll be first then…. The author comments on 'An unbelievably bright green Australian Moke' when he could have said it was 'Hairy Lime' :-) No, honestly, not a bad effort at all - but that of course is just a personal opinion. I'm glad I've got mine.... :)

Recieved mine the other day which I bought on ebay (only £9.45 inc P&P) only to find it was direct from the author and signed inside the front cover, which was an added bonus at a cheap price.......FF

Still at least I've got my new copy of Moking to be getting along with for now :P When is Father's Day ?

Isn't it funny how this topic has now gone quiet..... I guess the book turned out to be better than expected :) I personally think it's great and a very enjoyable read - top marks to John Christopher!

I can't comment on the book as I'm still waiting for my copy despite pre-ordering it in February.
I should of just waited and bought it off eBay, would of had it by now.
