Core plug leak

Post by Wally2 » Wed Sep 19, 2012 19:03

Hi all, I have a very slight leak on one of the core plugs, the one nearest the clutch just behind the oil pipe to the filter, I have a tell tale line of antifreeze blue on the block just below it. Does this mean replacing the plug or what?
Cheers

Assuming you will rebuild the engine at some stage, you could use Rad Weld. This is not a permanent solution, but will suffice for the time being.

You could just seal round it with silicone or similar or just pull it out and fit a new one. It's a fairly simple job once you get the oil pipe out of the way.

Hi Dean, Have managed to seal it with some gasket blue, but have ordered a new plug to fit when I change the cylinder head.
Cheers Chris
